About the Center
Since it's beginning in 1978, The Center for Turning and Furniture Design has established a reputation for involving both turning and furniture design as fine art disciplines and it is the first program in the nation to offer a studio emphasis in both areas, leading to undergraduate and graduate degrees in fine arts. The goal of the program is to develop entrepreneurs whose output is marked by artistic designs and fine craftsmanship. In addition, the Center is noted for its sponsorship of more than 50 visiting artists and numerous events - including lectures, workshops, residencies, and exhibitions.
